Because the same person writes, shoots and cuts, the cinematography is planned around what the edit actually needs, rather than around a shot list nobody has to deliver on.

An 8 hour day in AUD with the full kit included, so there is no separate gear line on the invoice. The complete kit list is on the gear page, and equipment is available to hire on its own.
DOP, cinematographer
or videographer?
Director of photography (DOP or DP)
The person responsible for how the film looks. On a crewed shoot the DOP owns the lighting design, lens choice and camera movement, and directs the camera and lighting departments. Hire a DOP when the look has to be deliberate and there are other people on set to run.
Cinematographer
The same discipline, usually the same person. Cinematography is the craft itself: exposure, contrast, colour and movement used to carry the story. The two titles get used interchangeably on Australian brand and commercial work.
Videographer
Usually a single operator shooting the whole job: camera, lighting and sound in one pair of hands. Right for social content, interviews, events and anything that needs to move quickly without a full crew on the call sheet.
So which should you book?
Same day rate either way, so it comes down to the job. Tell me the brief and I will say honestly whether you need a DOP with a crew around them, or a videographer who can quietly get the whole thing shot alone.

Do you work as a DOP on crewed shoots?
Yes. I work as a director of photography with a crew around me, and as a solo videographer when the job suits it. Lighting, lensing and camera movement are mine either way.
Is gear included in the day rate?
Yes. The shooting day covers the full kit: Sony FX3 cinema grade camera, glass, lighting, audio and grip. There is no separate equipment charge.
Do you travel outside Sydney?
Yes. I am based in Sydney and available Australia-wide for shoot days. Travel and accommodation are quoted on top for jobs outside the city.
Can you shoot and edit the same job?
Yes, and it is usually the better way to run it. One person carrying the idea from the shoot into the edit means nothing gets lost in the handover.
Do you work with a crew?
Either way. I can shoot solo for small, fast jobs, or bring in a crew sized to the job. Agencies and marketing teams often slot me in under their own creative lead.
